SOS - Spring has Sprung

Happy Easter Sugar Addicts, I hope there is more chocolate about your house than there is in ours.

I love the minimal look of this stamped egg, not even a hint of chocolate!
But its not all about the chocolate, OH NO SHE DIDN'T!
Yes there are many aspects to Easter don't you know. LOL

I love the feeling of spring, bright yellow daffodil's and crisp white snow drops peeking through a lawn that has been battered by a bitter cold winter, now coming back to life with a splash of natural colour.

Living in the country is great at this time of year. Living in the country or country living, you can be in the middle of the city and still let the country into your home.

I am very much a country living kind of girl, love old furniture, mix and match china, flowers and just generally making a display of loved things in your home. {I do it at work too}

It's just the sewing projects that I fall back on, with a now ever increasing collection of fabrics
thanks to a delivery in our store.
I have to get on and DO rather than planning these little bits of fabric things.

But it's taking all my time these days just to keep the family happy, the kitchen is forever in use as its lambing time and that is "work hard, eat and get back out there time".
I can not keep the fridge full or the men fed, they just cause havoc with my day.

Some of you know that last year my son James was saving up to by his own Tup (daddy sheep) and with his own flock of Ewes (mummy sheep) added later on, GUESS WHAT!
Yes it is spring after all, lambs lambs and more lambs.

It's not the first lambing James has helped out at, he is 14 and has done since he could walk.
{in his first size green John Deere boilder suit and his yellow JCB wellies}
but this year the lambs are his.
But  kids on a farm see the circle of life au natural.
And there was a young farmer with a heavy heart this week when one of his ewes lost 2 of her 3 lambs.
His dad gave him a pat on the back and told him that he still had a good ewe and one lamb, for that he needed to be grateful.

The lessons of life, passed on from one generation to the next.

have a great weekend

Saturday Shenanigans

Happy Easter everyone!

I do hope that you are all organised for the big ‘Egg Hunt’ tomorrow?

Of course, I realise that Easter is a spiritual celebration but, with two small (very excited) girls in my house, for them it is all about the Easter Bunny!

I confess, this year, to being a little nervous about the Easter Bunnies abilities to hide eggs in the snow, without getting his paws frostbitten.

Perhaps he will do what he used to do when I was little…..and hide them all around the house instead?

This sometimes led to melted chocolate eggs being found a couple of months later…because, of course, the silly Easter Bunny had hidden them too close to light fittings and heaters!

So, perhaps, it’ll just have to be frozen outdoor eggs this year!

Today I thought that I might do a little ‘featurette’ on one of our fabulous Design Team members, and this time around it’s

Missy Pat joined us, as a DT member, in September 2011.
Although, she had been with us for some considerable time, before that, as a Sweetie over on The Sugar Bowl.

So, let’s take a look at some of her fabulous creations…

I confess that when I saw this gorgeous card, I instantly had to rush out and buy the design paper she had used, as it is just so deliciously Spring like.

(Hello, my name is Gayle and I’m a paperaholic)

Pat has used Honey Pip here.

and a digi Daffy Pip in this gingham creation….for those who don’t know, I am OBSESSED with gingham!
Sooo perfect for a last minute Easter or Spring card, as it’s digi it’s instant.

and, she has used my ‘most favourite’ colour combination for this Babies Delight card.
I do love green and orange together, always a winner for me!

More recently, Pat has been taking some art classes herself, and she has fallen in love with our more ‘arty’ range of Leanne Ellis stamps

Which has led to some divine creations using these graceful ladies….

This one is called ‘Time Flies’ and this card is so delightfully full of little details.

Here we have If Only…..oh, ‘if only’ I could make cards as elegant as this one *sigh* Although, I do posses this stamp, that die, ‘oh’ but no papers like this…..maybe I need some???? lol

This ultra feminine card uses Belle Flower, and brings us ‘full circle’ back to my addiction for papers,,,as I think I might ‘NEED’ these too!

I'm sure you'll agree, we have one very talented (and very funny) lady in our Pat!

Just goes to show that we have a fabulous design team and a diverse range of stamps that has ‘something for everyone’!

I do hope that I’ve provided you with a little inspiration this Saturday?

If so, please feel free to show us your creations, either, on our Facebook page and in The Sugar Bowl….there’s fabulous prizes to be won!

Enjoy your weekend,,,and don’t eat too many eggs!

Jasmine

Good morning everyone :o)

I have a sweet little fairy creation today, using a gorgeous stamp from the Fairy Glen collection.

This little lovely is called Jasmine and she's available from Funky Kits here.

I've kept my card light and fresh and springlike as there seem to be no signs of an actual spring here in the UK!  We're still surrounded by snow and ice in Sheffield, and I've got yet another cold... I'm not a hot weather sort of person, but I absolutely promise not to moan about the heat (if we get any) this year lol.

Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

Good Morning Sugar Addicts :)

Blimey but it's been cold over here for the last week! We've had snow and more snow and temperatures are in the minus's. A big change from the weather we were having this time last year, when it was unseasonably warm. But every cloud has a silver lining and it's perfect weather for staying indoors and colouring.

Over on our challenge blog, the Sugar Bowl, there is still almost a week left to get your entry in before the next challenge starts on Thursday 4th April...and it could be YOU that's picked at random to receive the prize of any 4 Sugar Nellie stamps of your choosing, but you've got to be in it to win it.

Until then...
This weeks Eye Candy goes to...

...Dunja.

An absolutely gorgeous card made with the Gorgeous Girl Little Star.
I love the stamping on linen!! I quite fancy having a try at that myself if I can find someone that stocks this in the UK?
Beautifully coloured and such pretty embellishments..I love this sooo much :)
Please take our badge Dunja, and thank you for sharing your delightful card with us.

I'll be back again the same time next week with the new Sugar Bowl challenge.
Thanks for looking

A Gorgeous Bear Hug

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with a card I have made using one of the lovely Gorgeous girls stamps from Funky Kits. This adorable image is called 'Bear Hug' and you can get her here. I coloured her in with Promarkers and paper pieced her dress to give her a lovely spotty outfit.

The papers I have used are Christmas ones from Carta Bella. I love the pretty colours so I thought I would have a go at using them for a non Christmassy card and I think they have worked pretty well. The lace was bought in a beautiful Haberdashery store in New York a little while ago and the flowers are from the Ribbon Girl and my stash. The little sentiment is a rub on. I finished off with a few little stick on gems and pearls. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

SOS - Simply Stunning

Hello lovely ladies, and of course any lovely men who read this blog too!

This Sunday I would like to share with your something a little different.
In our store we play with many many product and if we love it, we share it in a class.

I would like to share with you a flower that Kate made as an embellishment in her class.

Or with white pearl card as an addition to a card or box.

This is one of our fastest selling stamps in our store in ELGIN (papercrafts)

SORRY SOLD OUT

Saturday Shenanigans!

I  had an exciting email this morning….

Sender – The National Lottery
Subject – You’re A Winner!

It was still very exciting when I opened it and it read
‘You’re a Euromillions winner, you’re numbers came up on last nights draw.
Please sign in to your online account as we have sent you mail detailing your win.’
So, I duly logged on, full of excitement and it was announced that I had won the massive, life changing sum, of………….£5.10!

There was I thinking £5.1 million….but, alas, it was not to be.

Still, I’m ‘up’ right?

Anyhoo…..back to business….

Happy Saturday everyone, from a rather snowy Scotland!

Yes, we are under a white blanket here, as is most of the UK from what I can tell…when will it ever end?

The topic for my post this week, as I have become a little obsessed with umberella’s lately, was originally going to be ‘April Showers’ and we’ll stick with that theme for the rest of the post however, I think that the first card I show today is a little more apt!

Sweetie Kiki has used Winter Wonderland.
Now, for some less ‘snowy’ samples…to start with, a beautiful Spring card,
DT member Jane has used April Showers

Sugar Addict Debbie has used Heather

Heather

Sugar Addict Anne  has used  Splashing Maggie

[Monthly+Challenge+JoanneIMG_4871.JPG]

Sugar Addict Amanda has used  Ellas’s Umberella

Former DT member Donalda  has used Splish Splash.

Now, let’s hope that next Saturday I have some sunny samples to show you all….

If you’re having a weekend tucked away crafting, please don’t forget to enter our challenges over on Facebook, and at The Sugar Bowl, at least there, you’ll be assured of a warm welcome!

Enjoy your weekend!

BOF - Tabitha

Hello sweet friends!  Today I'm sharing a card using one of Sugar Nellie's newest images from the Bags of Fashion collection.

This beautiful girl is called Tabitha and she was so much fun to color.  I especially love her long, wavy hair.  I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I made a rosette from some muslin fabric and then used my distress inks to dye the rosette and some seam binding.  I added a little WOC flower, a few pearls, and corner dies to finish my card.  You can find Tabitha and the other beautiful girls from the Bags of Fashion collection over at Funky Kits.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.  Enjoy your weekend!

Hugs, Anita

Good Morning Sugar Addicts...yes it's me again!

I can't believe it's been a week since I was last here, time seems to be flying by so quickly.
Darn it...I must be getting old :(

There's still almost a fortnight left to get your entries into the current Sugar Bowl challenge.
The theme is 'Anything Goes' but you MUST use a Sugar Nellie image.

Back to business...this weeks Eye Candy badge goes to...

I love white-on-white cards. All that white space makes the coloured image really 'pop'.
I also love the different textures made with embossing and die cuts.
Debbie has used one of my favourite images for Christmas cards, Seasons Greetings from the Simply Sassy range...love it!

Please take our badge Debbie and display it with pride.

Thanks for looking

Gorjuss Girl - Sitting

Hello everyone :o)

I thought I'd use one of the older Sugar Nellie stamps for today's card... I love all of the Gorjuss Girls, they're all so pretty and lovely to colour.

This one is called Sitting and she's still available from Funky Kits here.

I've matched her up with some pretty Bo Bunny papers and embellishments, and a Prima flower.

Well it's a very miserable rainy day here in Sheffield, hope it's a bit more cheerful where you are!  Have a lovely day :o)

Good Morning Sugar Addicts :)

Yep...it's me again, back with this weeks eye candy.

As always, there is a beautiful and varied selection of cards entered into the Sugar Bowl challenge.
It's a lovely little job to look at each one and cast a vote for Eye Candy, which this week goes to...

Dee's delightful card uses the delicious Delia ( do I win an award for the most D's used in a sentence?)

The colours are so pretty and the embellishments are perfect...enough to enhance the image but not overshadow it. A very beautiful card Dee.

Please take our badge Dee, and display it with pride :)

Bags of Fashion - Mia

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I have been playing with my gorgeous new 'Bags of Fashion' stamps this week. It's so lovely to have new rubber to play with and I love all the Bags of Fashion girls. I have used Mia on my card and coloured her in with my Promarkers before cutting her out leaving a small border.

I used Spellbinders dies to cut a card base and to cut the layers for my card using Glitz Design papers from the Uncharted waters pad.  I distressed the edges of all the layers and tucked a die cut doily behind my sentiment strip which I topped with a pearl swirl.

Here is a close up of my image. I love her outfit and her cool boots! I added her to card using foam pads and finished with a wooden butterfly and a paper flower. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Belle Flower...

Happy Monday, all you "sugar lovers"!! Pat Frank here with a sweet new Sugar Nellie DT card!
What'cha think?

Today's card features another one of Leanne Ellis' images made specifically for Sugar Nellie. This one is called "Belle Flower" and is available HERE at Funky Kits. Here's a close-up...

I have to tell you, I am love, love, LOVIN' these Leanne Ellis stamps. And, once again, I used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color/paint this cutie. I just think these quirky and kind of "vintage-y" Leanne Ellis images lend themselves so beautifully to DIs!!

Here's another view... I like to call this my "artsy fartsy" photo...

Now...for more info on this card plus a peek at a few more pics,
please pop on over to my blog HERE!!

And, that's it for me! Sending sweet, sweet hugs your way....
