On The Wings of Love ~ Sugar Nellie

Happy Sunday! It’s Jeanette and I have a new art journal page to share with you :)

I used the digital image On the Wings of Love for my page. I was able to size it so that it fit perfectly onto my 6x8 page.

DSC_9811

The image was colored with copic markers, some Wink of Stella on the wings and then I carefully cut it all out.

I created the background my using some water-color paper and some distress inks. I used Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Stormy Sky. After it was dry, I adhered the image and then added a few sequins for some bling.

You can find this image and many others here:

Be sure to check out the Sugar Bowl challenge and we would love to see you over at our Sugar Nellie Facebook page!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

SOS holiday mode

Sharing this Saturday while I remember.

Before I jump on the first flight out of Scotland to Philadelphia at the first sign of labour, I will be putting Funkykits into Holiday Mode.

Most of our orders are for digital which requires me to do nothing, but rubber orders still do happen!

I will be away for probably three weeks and even with notices up on the home page saying all this, several customers did not take note and were disappointed to have to wait longer for their order to be dispatched when we relocated at the end of July.

To keep thinks simple I'll just close and this will also give me time to sort out the chaos in the wear house and maybe locate some more missing stock.

Funkykits will be taking a break for most of September.

If you need a sugar fix, think fast.

By the time I come back it will be birthday time for Sugar Nellie, how many year?

Karen

A hug......

Hi eeryone,
Saturday, first day of the weekend
And that also means it is time for me
giving you some inspiration on this blog.
Today I have choosen a lovely image from the
Gorjuss girl range named the Getaway:

It is a rubber stamp that can be bought here:

I wanted to make something special with this sweet image and
decided to make a CAS card with this sweetie.
I saw a simulair card on a Facebook Group and
used the idea, but in my own style :) .
Here is my card:

I hope I have given you some inspiration and
that you will enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Untill next time,
Happy Crafting and hugs,
Marion

Fashionista

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop back in often because every day one of the gals on the DT features a  new project.  Also, don't forget to enter the Anything Goes challenge at the Sugar Bowl (remember to use a Funky Kits image) and there's always always plenty of inspiration and chatting on the Sugar Nellie Facebook Fan Page.

SOS I've got keys!

Or is that Share On Thursday. SOT

It's been a long hard year at the House of Sugar, that why you have not heard much from me.

Our bricks and Mortar store closed at the end of our lease and we had to pack it all up and put it in storage as I could not find a suitable new home.  Every space I own looks like lockers from Storage Wars!

Kate moved on to pastures new which left little old me to say good bye to all our lovely customers that have supported us over the years. With no place to go, early retirement was on the horizon until I seen just how much stock there was, far too much to write off and donate.

At the same time Funky kits moved into a new building with all sorts of chaos. Lost stock, no wifi, cramped conditionand incompetent  seasonal help.  I'm glad that most orders are now digital and process without any issue. It's still not running a smoothly as I would like and this causes a wee bit of unwanted stress.

But long story cut short, we have a new forever home.

There is renovation work to be done, and many options with the rest of this sprawls building. A quaint country cottage, garden, own car park, loads of character and features that will make for an interesting store.

I'll be putting my thinking cap on while on Granny leave, baby due on 14 September so I'll be flying out to Philadelphia to do my bit. As it's my first grandchild, I'm rather excited.❤️
I'll leave the men to "flip" the building and hope that October sees the new improved craft shop open in time for Christmas craft projects and classes.

I'll leave you with the before pictures of the building. It was a pub & restaurant before closing.

The only part of the business with out  news is Sugar Nellie. The DT and sweeties continue to do a fantastic job showcasing the sweet stuff. Fiona has been invaluable in her organising.

My main job is to find new art but there are so many negatives affecting the industry right now that I'm reluctant to open my self up to more problems. Might just sit tight for a while longer and see how things pan out.

So as Debbie packs her hospital bag, I'm packing my suitcase full of new born baby cloths, big case is all neutral and one piece of hand luggage in blue and one in pink. Which one shall I grab on the way out the door? Excited much!

Take care sugar addicts and I'll try to keep in touch more, promise.
Karen

The image and background were colored with Copic markers and the edge was colored with Wink of Stella Gold brush. I then went in with my Sharpie white poster paint pen to add the dots.

Easy Rider

Hi everyone,
Wow, is already a week passed ?
It is Saturday, so I may give you
some inspiration with one of the
gorjuss stamps from the store.
This time I choosed a digi from Furry Friends
collection.
It is called Easy Rider:

Isn't this cat image the cutest ?
Just love these digis.
You can find this lovely fellow here:

I wanted the image and the papers to come out,
so kept my card very clean with embelishments
and did not even add a text.
Here is my card:

I wanted the cute one to ride in a romantic atmosphere.
I coloured the image with copics.
I am happy you visited this blog today.
Have a great weekend,
Happy Crafting and hugs,

You are Braver, Stronger, Smarter

Hi there!  Marilyn here with Friday's Inspiration post and my latest make for Sugar Nellie.
For today's card, I used one of the images from the super cute Wellington Bear set available at the Funky Kits store.
http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/
The sentiment is a Christopher Robin quote which I printed up on the computer using a Simply Glamorous and Underwood Champion fonts.
Be sure to pop back in often because every day one of the gals on the DT features a  new project.  Also, don't forget to enter the Anything Goes challenge at the Sugar Bowl (remember to use a Funky Kits image) and there's always always plenty of inspiration and chatting on the Sugar Nellie Facebook Fan Page.

Make A Wish

Hello Sugar Fans!

It's Janine here with my usual Wednesday post.

For my card this week I've used the ever so cute digital stamp called 'Make A Wish' available from Funkykits.

I think she's beautiful; just so elegant sitting there with her magic wand.

I used a 6" x 6" scallop card blank and matted it with deep blue card.  I printed my image directly onto some lemon card and die cut it into a circle, to add a little dimension I stencilled stars on it with glittery texture paste.

I printed the image again onto my colouring cardstock and coloured it with Copic Markers, then fussy cut it out. The cut out image was then added on top of the lemon circle using foam tape and attached to my card base.

To finish off I added glitter to her wand and wings, and added a few die cut buttons with a gem.

For full details of everything I've used and did, please check out my blog here.

Thank you for dropping by, and don't forget to call by tomorrow to see more fabulous inspiration from our fab Design Team and why not join our facebook group.

big Hugs

Heavenly Angel

Happy Sunday Jeanette here and it is my turn to share something  sweet with you.

For my card I chose the adorable  Heavenly Angel image. So soft and sweet and innocent. I colored it up with copics and then added stickles for some sparkle.

DSC_9790

I did a little bit of light sponging around the edges of my die cut circle with some Tumbled Glass distress inks and I lightly added a yellow prismacolor pencil around the angel to give her a heavenly glow :)
